[vc_column_text]Education and relationship are the major elements to Hope Rise International’s mission. America is a new place with new expectations and a different culture. We commit ourselves to teaching on a weekly basis. Each minute spent with a refugee family is an opportunity to teach them the ways of their new home. We focus mainly on day to day communication with the families. We also work to connect them to other organizations that will help them learn any skills they may need for a successful future.[/vc_column_text]
[vc_column_text]As we connect with the families and their specific needs, there are times when they financially need our help with things that they are facing. This can include things such as doctor visits, medications, needs for newborn babies, etc.[/vc_column_text]
[vc_column_text]There are many issues that come up with each family as they begin their lives in America. So, a majority of our time is spent helping them get connected to the resources they need to succeed. This may include finding jobs, legal aid, health care, insurance and many other issues they may be facing. We are available to them as a service to get them connected to the right place for them. Also, with the language and cultural barriers, we can act as an advocate for them in many situations.[/vc_column_text]
[vc_column_text]With the children we mainly focus on two areas: Camps in the Summer months and Christmas Gifts. We partner with organizations that host camps for children and teens in the Summer. We sponsor each child that we can to attend the camp. At the camps, they are learning skills that they may not have the opportunity to have in schools such as sports, art, music, drama, dance, etc. The camps also allow the children to connect to other children from different backgrounds. Each Holiday season, each child that is connected to Hope Rise is sponsored for a Christmas gift. These allow the children to receive things that their parents cannot always provide for them and is a great way to show love to the children and in turn, the whole family.[/vc_column_text]
[vc_column_text]These days are solely focused on giving out the donations of household and everyday items we have received to any refugee families that are in want of basic needs such as clothing, shoes, kitchen items, hygiene items, blankets, general household items and any other donations that we have received that can be used by these families. [/vc_column_text]
[vc_column_text]We work to get them to doctor appointments, agency appointments and job placement appointments. Many of them do not drive and need help getting to where they need to be. There are programs that they may benefit from, but often do not have the means to get to where they need to go to receive the benefits. We often act as the middle man, making sure this happens.[/vc_column_text]
[vc_column_text]Life Skill Training Days are set up to focus on specific issues to benefit the community as a whole. These days focus on general health, budgeting, family planning, cleaning their apartments, food storage, and other topics that help give a holistic approach to the families’ needs. We want them to be equipped with the information they need to become self-reliant families. These days are created to help them to continue to assimilate into American society and not get lost in the system but become part of it.[/vc_column_text]
